Chisnall survives late revival from Rock to seal Players Championship 25 title

It is a second PDC ranking title of the season for an in-form Dave Chisnall after his superb European Tour win at the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze, it is the bright lights of Barnsley Metrodome and the Players Championship 25 crown that is his today.

Chisnall averaged 100.6 hitting six 180's in an 8-4 win over Josh Rock who continues to impress albeit still without a PDC title to his name for his sterling season and instead honours go to the St Helens ace.

Rock missed 124 on the bull to start but returned with 50 missed only to miss two further darts allowing Chisnall to seal a break and he consolidated from there.

Rock still didn’t have a leg as Chisnall broke again with a 140 checkout. Rock missed two darts from 71 and Chisnall again held on double 20 for a 4-0 lead.

Rock finally held throw but Chisnall extended his lead to 5-1. He missed 58 to break again but Rock could not 110 and Chisnall went 6-1 up.

A 74 checkout saw Rock break back as he looked for a late revival. A 180 and 122 continued that and Chisnall missed three darts to hold and Rock made it 6-4. But Chisnall took out double four after Rock missed a dart to hold and he went one away at 7-4.

He missed match darts but Rock missed 110 on double 18 and Chisnall got his chance pinning double 16.
