Chisnall survives seven match darts to defeat Joyce and reach World Grand Prix Quarter-Finals

Dave Chisnall is through to the Quarter-Finals at the World Grand Prix after battling back from two sets down and surviving seven match darts to defeat Ryan Joyce 3-2 to begin the night in Coventry.

Joyce gained an immediate break of throw in the tie but it was a first set of breaks with Joyce registering the pivotal one to make it 2-1 and from there he held throw to make it 3-1 with a 98.5 average.

Chisnall missed darts at doubles in the requisite leg and Joyce stepped in to double his lead in set two with a break of throw and he was soon two sets down putting himself in big trouble.

Joyce went one away by forcing a decider in the next set but an 82 checkout saw Chisnall claim the third set in a deciding leg to save the match.

Joyce continued to cruise towards the finishing line but Chisnall showed real fight to force a deciding leg once more and 'Relentless' missed more darts at doubles with seven in all by this point.

Chisnall had the impetus from there on in and three more missed doubles allowed Chisnall to double his lead and he claimed the tie from there.
