Chris Dobey takes confidence from strong floor form heading into duel with Michael van Gerwen: "If I can take that form on to the big stage I could be winning major titles"

Chris Dobey faces a tough challenge on Night Three of the 2025 Premier League Darts. The Englishman will take on Michael van Gerwen in the quarter-finals, the seven-time Premier League champion who reached the semifinals in both weeks of play so far this season. Still, Dobey travels to Dublin with confidence, especially after his recent success on the Pro Tour.
Dobey is in excellent form and proved it again on Monday by winning Players Championship 3 in Rosmalen midweek. Now 'Hollywood' wants to continue that hot streak onto the stage, where he was stranded against Luke Humphries on both of the opening two nights of the 2025 Premier League Darts season.

“If I can take my ProTour form on to the big stage, then who knows? I could be winning these major titles,” said the darter from Bedlington in quotes collected by the PDC, who was eliminated by Van Gerwen in the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship semifinals as recently as January.
The Englishman has worked hard to take his game to the next level and is now seeing the fruits of those efforts. “I’m working hard, I’m putting in the hours and it’s started to pay off on the floor, so it’s only a matter of time before it happens on the stage again," he insists.
Dobey realizes that chances have to be taken though, especially in a brutal format like the Premier League. “You have to take your opportunities and make it count. I just love playing darts, and I want to keep winning titles now,” Dobey concludes.
