Callan Rydz has sent a real message to the rest of the field at the 2025 PDC World Darts Championship. Averaging 105.31, Rydz has demolished former world semi-finalist Dimitri van den Bergh 4-0 at the Alexandra Palace.

Callan Rydz's 107 average in his first round victory, remains the standout performance of the World Darts Championship so far. In the opening set of this one though, the Englishman was even better, averaging 109.98 he raced through the first three legs in double quick time to move 1-0 up against a helpless Van den Bergh.

A 100 checkout rounded off an 11-darter to open up the second set for Rydz as he continued his fast start. Van den Bergh has also upped his level slightly though, coming more into the contest. As both players traded holds of throw, the set went all the way to a fifth and deciding leg, where Rydz had the darts. With a 13-darter, Rydz gave Van den Bergh no look at a break and moved 2-0 up, averaging 116!

Another 11-darter got set 3 up and running as Rydz just refused to relent. Van den Bergh though, broke straight back in the following leg to level the set. With two more breaks of throw following, the third set also went to a deciding leg and this time, it was the Belgian that had the advantage of throwing first. Sadly for Van den Bergh though, the run of legs against the darts continued as Rydz took leg 5 to move 3-0 up.

Still averaging around 110, Rydz continued to produce magical darts as he went 1-0 up in the 4th set. Despite some missed darts at double in the next leg, Rydz eventually nailed double 2 to go one leg from the last 16. A few moments later, a 12-darter completed the win as Rydz moves through to a last 16 tie against either Ricky Evans or Robert Owen.
