Chris Dobey has produced his first nightly win of the 2025
Premier League Darts in Rotterdam seeing off
Stephen Bunting in a 6-2 win after 'The Bullet' himself got off the mark two weeks ago.
Dobey sealed a 6-3 win over
Luke Humphries to open the night before he then saw off
Nathan Aspinall with a double 100 average from 'Hollywood' before he finally saw off Bunting in what was a comprehensive display.
The Bedlington ace produced a 101.65 average, two 180's and 6/9 on the doubles which albeit doesn't propel him towards the playoffs gives him the nightly win that he has craved for some time in this tournament.
To start the tie, Bunting opened up with a 13-darter on double 20 to hold throw. Dobey levelled up at 1-1. A magnificent 162 followed by a 52 checkout saw Dobey take a 2-1 lead.
A 92 checkout saw Dobey make it 3-1. He made it 4-1 on double 16. Dobey missed 98 for 5-1.
But he returned to hit double 20. Dobey hit a 180 to leave 70 but in reality it was mere pressure as Bunting made it 5-2. Dobey took aim at 72 and pinned double 20.
For most it is now a trip to Munich over the Easter weekend for the next European Tour which begins on Saturday instead of Friday as is tradition. Then it is onto Liverpool for the next Premier League Darts night which given
Gerwyn Price's comments earlier tonight, he will be looking forward to.
But given Bunting and Aspinall's upturn since form in the Premier League, Dobey will hope this now leads to an uptick in terms of his titles and also going into Liverpool next week. Superb from Hollywood as he picks up his first title tonight.
