Clayson secures UK Open debut with Riley's Amateur Qualifier win

Steve Clayson has become the latest player to claim his UK Open debut after winning the Riley's Amateur Qualifier in Nottingham over the weekend.

Clayson, unlike the likes of Danny Lauby and Diogo Portela who have already qualified is an unknown and will make his televised debut in Minehead aiming to emulate Rob Cross.

The 59-year-old kitchen fitter won through in Nottingham and is one of 16 who will qualify which already include Portela, Lauby and Kai Fan Leung who will play from March 4-6.

Steve Clayson won the Rileys Amateur Qualifier in Nottingham on Saturday to secure his Cazoo UK Open debut. The 59-year old kitchen fitter from Derby is the latest of 16 players who will win through from knockouts staged in Rileys Sports Bars.
