Jonny Clayton has added his name to the list of players who are certain to take part in the
Grand Slam of Darts, which takes place later this year in November.
Clayton won the World Cup of Darts with compatriot Gerwyn Price last weekend. The Welsh duo were far too strong for Scots
Peter Wright and
Gary Anderson in the final, 10-2.
Price had already qualified for the Grand Slam of Darts by reaching the final of the Premier League Darts in May. Clayton had not yet qualified and now also knows he is guaranteed participation in Wolverhampton.
Eight players are now certain to take part. These include Michael Smith, Michael van Gerwen, Chris Dobey, Andrew Gilding, Nathan Aspinall and Rob Cross.
Losing finalists Wright and Anderson are virtually seeded. They could potentially be left out if the upcoming television tournaments all produce new finalists, but history shows that the losing finalists of the World Cup of Darts usually also compete in the Grand Slam of Darts.
