Clayton disappointed after losing World Darts Championship classic: "I felt this year was my time"

Jonny Clayton was one of the main favourites for this year's PDC World Darts Championship but he will take no further part after losing to Michael Smith in a true classic.

Clayton was as a result disappointed as he felt it was his time but gave full credit to his opponent.

"Lost for words ATM, I gave it my all but full credit to Michael he was equally as good. Very disappointed as I felt this year was my time but I’ll be back next year - thanks to everyone for the year gone, it’s been amazing," he said.
