Clayton dumps out Van Gerwen as Price piles more misery onto Wright with Premier League Darts hat-trick in sight

The two Welsh wizards in this year's Premier League Darts will collide again in the semi-finals of Night Nine in Berlin with Jonny Clayton set to face Gerwyn Price shortly.

Clayton saw off Michael van Gerwen who exits for just the second time at the Quarter-Final stage during this year's weekly roadshow.

For the most part, the story of the tie was Clayton not pouncing all over a really out-of-sorts Green Machine who nearly got over the line in the end.

Van Gerwen got off to a poor start, losing the first two legs to Clayton. With a 15-darter, he held throw to make it 2-1. Mighty Mike' stayed well below the 90 average, but still kept his grip on the tie and at 4-4 everything was still possible.

The ninth leg saw MVG remarkably go one away. Clayton, however, would not budge and on his own throw he tied the score again. But in the decider, Clayton left no doubt and quickly built up a large lead with a 140 and 180 score. In the end he managed to grab the victory on double 7.

Clayton will take on Gerwyn Price in the semifinals. However, it was Peter Wright who got off to the best start, quickly taking a 3-1 lead. Price then raised his level, was well above 100 average and won the next four legs to take a 5-3 lead.

Price who will be looking for a third consecutive weekly Premier League victory in Berlin after also winning the European Darts Open last weekend hit double 3 and he eventually managed to win 6-3.
