Clayton on finding out Premier League fate: “It was one hell of a feeling and I won’t forget that”

Jonny Clayton will be part of a three player contingent of Premier League Darts debutants alongside Dimitri van den Bergh and Jose de Sousa.
The Darts Show did a piece before the tournament kicks off looking to sum up the feeling of reaching the darting roadshow for the first time and ‘The Ferret’ spoke on finding out he was claiming the final spot through The Masters.
“When I came through and won that, it was one hell of a feeling and I won’t forget that,” said Clayton on The Darts Show. “Once you get the taste of being a contender, it was a bit of a push really that I can do this.”
“It’s a dream to be a part of the Premier League and everybody as a darts player, it’s what we all aim for.”

- Not a Dobey fan at all but it’s bizarre that the winner of 3 Players Championship rounds does not qualify ahead of any runner up. The GSOD seems to be going the same way as footballs Champions League with a lot of non winners. The old football European Cup was a tournament of winners. GSOD should be for winners only and by tournament prestige and if it’s ranked. Not enough players or multiple event winners then add winners of the big invitationals such as the Premier League and WSOD.Mysstree02-11-2024
