Jonny Clayton recorded a hard-fought victory over
Peter Wright to advance to the last four during the fourteenth round of
Premier League Darts play in Manchester.
The Welshman desperately needed the victory. He is battling alongside Nathan Aspinall and Michael Smith for the last two available places for the play-offs. Aspinall and Smith face each other later in the evening.
Wright took a 2-0 lead in the beginning of the match, but missed two darts to make 3-0. Then four legs in a row went to Clayton, who took a break lead himself in the process. However, Wright recovered and came back to 4-4 and moments later it was 5-5. Clayton then took out 102 in the decider to claim the win.
