The second semi-final is set on Night 10 of Premier League Darts action in Manchester with Jonny Clayton continuing Michael van Gerwen's run of going out the following week after reaching at least the final.
Albeit this was in a truly incredible contest which saw Clayton average 109 with 67% on the doubles to an effort of 105 and three ton-plus checkouts including a superb 152 followed by 131 from the Dutchman.
But after missing 115 for the match, Clayton's clutch finishing came to the rescue as he produced a 71 checkout to deny Mighty Mike in one of the best rivalries in darts at the moment.
While next up will be Joe Cullen who breezed past Michael Smith to complete the semi-final line-up and leaves 'Bully Boy' adrift as a result with play-offs a real mountain to climb now.
While for Cullen, he will look towards a potential second weekly win after Rotterdam after a 6-2 win over Smith.
At first, he threatened to run away with it going 3-0 up with a 102 average and 3/3 on the doubles and Smith's poor doubling lent itself to Cullen who stormed clear at 5-0 with Smith hitting 0/11.
Smith came back strongly with an 11-darter to break at 5-2 but this proved a consolation as Cullen surged over the line to halt any potential late comeback hitting a 125 checkout to seal it.
