Jonny Clayton is successfully through to the Third Round at the 2020 PDC World Championship where a tie against Stephen Bunting awaits on Sunday afternoon.
Clayton was clinical and after winning the first set 3-2 romped to victory from there only dropping one more leg against the Dutchman. It was a polished display from 'The Ferret'; who lived up to his seed billing and claimed victory.
Clayton took the opening set in a deciding leg as it was very even in the early going between the Welshman and the Dutchman; but it was three 180's and a 92 average at this point that saw 'The Ferret' have the difference at this point.
He started the next set brilliantly though as he produced a 121 checkout to double his lead in the early going; but despite that Dekker replied with an 81 checkout to break and trail only 2-1.
This flourish though wasn't enough as Clayton took out 78 to conclude the set and go one away from victory.
He found an early break in the next set hitting double 10 and from there he crashed in a 139 checkout to move one away and this proved to be the nail in the coffin as the Welshman won through to the next round.
