Another week, another Premier League Darts final for Jonny Clayton with the forerunner in the weekly roadshow set to face his closest rival, Michael van Gerwen in a table-topping affair in Glasgow.
Clayton has reached three consecutive finals now and in his last weekly win, he saw off Van Gerwen also in Scotland with the Aberdeen title going to 'The Ferret'.
This in a dramatic 6-5 win with a 103 average, will it be the same tonight or will 'Mighty Mike' win for the first time since Leeds on Night Nine.
In moving through, Clayton silenced the home faithful with Gary Anderson defeated in his quest to continue his undefeated streak to eight matches in Glasgow. He sealed a 6-4 win in the process.
Anderson started well with a 150 checkout but Clayton reversed a 2-1 deficit to produce a 141 checkout for 2-2 before breaking for 3-2. Anderson stopped the rot with a 115 checkout but Clayton went one better with a 116 to go 5-3 up and one away.
It was a myriad of big finishes as Anderson took out 110 but that was a mere consolation as Clayton took the win.
While Michael van Gerwen who came through another marathon tie will await with Michael Smith vanquished 6-5.
He took out 104 for a 12-darter in the decider to deny Smith who impressed at times but again lacked the cutting edge in the decider.
He produced four legs on the spin to go 4-2 up after Van Gerwen initially led but the struggling Green Machine produced a 108 checkout which set him on his way before riding the coattails of Smith to a decider where he produced when it mattered most. Who seals the latest weekly title?
