Gabriel Clemens will return after Christmas at the 2021/22 PDC
World Darts Championship after easing past Lewy Williams in straight sets.
Clemens hit four 180's and a high checkout of 143 en route to see off the debutant who will take a lot of solace from a brilliant debut year on the PDC Tour.
He coasted to the opening set without reply hitting 3/3 on the doubles and continued in that vein but this time with a blockbuster 143 checkout to level the second set at 1-1.
A second set decider was forced though with Clemens hitting a 180 only to be cancelled out by an 87 checkout on the bull. But after a missed dart at double 20 for the set, Clemens edged it to double his lead.
Williams hit the millionth dart in World Darts Championship history but after breaking his throw, Clemens held to go 2-0 up before concluding the tie to book his spot in the next round.
