Clemens impressive in seeing off Van Barneveld, defending champion Suljovic eases through against Langendorf

The next Quarter-Finalists have been confirmed at the German Darts Masters with Gabriel Clemens and Mensur Suljovic both moving through to the final day.

Clemens was impressive in seeing off Raymond van Barneveld who was on the German leg of his farewell tour of sorts but it was 'The German Giant' who showed his class and form to see off the Dutch legend.

He started off well by breaking the throw to double his advantage and from there he made it a 3-0 lead hitting a 14 darter to go with his 106 average. Van Barneveld got back into it though showing he still had a bit of life in the contest by hitting a brilliant 119 checkout.

He closed to gap to 3-2 from there breaking the throw himself sinking double eight in the process. Clemens though had another burst and broke back to go two clear again at 4-2. He extended his doubling to 5/7 to go within one and at a point of no return potentially for 'Barney'.

Barney though pounced on two missed match darts to hold his throw to ask the question of his opponent but Clemens answered by holding onto his throw to get over the line and move through to the Quarter-Finals.

Suljovic then saw off Maik Langendorf in a routine win for the Gentle in the defence of his German Darts Masters title. He started off well with two ton plus checkouts to kick off the contest. These were 100 and 110 which of course broke the throw of Langendorf in the process.

Langendorf though clawed back a leg but was still trailing 3-1 and went two behind again at 4-2 with a 12 darter that could have offered some resistance. This wasn't the case though with Suljovic easing through to day two.
