Gabriel Clemens has produced another inspired display to continue his form as of late to slay Rob Cross and move into the semi-final line-up at the German Darts Masters.
Clemens will face off against Mensur Suljovic in the second clash as he aims to claim a long-awaited maiden PDC title on home soil and who could bet against the German Giant now he is through to the last four.
He ended up winning 8-5 against 'Voltage' with a 99 average and 66 percent on the doubles and he dispelled a 106 average from Cross in the process.
Cross started the better of the two going 3-2 up but the turning point for Clemens came when he smashed in a 131 checkout to level up at 3-3.
From there he pounced on missed darts from Cross to break and go 4-3 up taking the upperhand. He went 5-3 up from there leaving Cross potentially in the dust and the barrage continued with him going 6-3 up featuring a third 180.
Five legs in a row saw him go one away as the question marks would start to hit especially considering his close shaves as of late in PDC latter stages which have seen him lose out on a maiden PDC title.
Cross showed that by stopping the rot with a 124 checkout to trail 7-4. He went to 7-5 behind but Clemens finally concluded the job to see off the heavily fancied Cross.
