Keane Barry and
Gabriel Clemens made light work of their openers at the
Belgian Darts Open, with the German Giant making good on his late call-up after an injury to Cameron Menzies.
Barry triumphed 6-1 against Sven Hilling, while Clemens recorded a 6-0 final score against Graham Usher despite 'The Gambler' throwing in his final roll of the dice with a nine-dart finish attempt in Leg Four.
Also,
Damian Mol made his
European Tour debut by reaching the second round at the Belgian Darts Open in Wieze.
It did not look like that after the early stages. Opponent Jeff Smith was leading 4-0, but a 120 finish by Mol in the fifth leg turned the match around.
Also crucial was the eighth leg, in which Smith was not out within six darts to decide the match 6-2.
Instead, it became 5-3, after which Mol managed to come back to 5-5 with an 18-darter and a 13-darter. After a difficult last leg, the victory then went to the Dutchman.
