The second round is complete at the
Gibraltar Darts Trophy with mixed fortunes for the seeded players to end Saturday night on the Rock as
Gabriel Clemens and
Joe Cullen moved through.
Mixed fortunes as Clemens dumped out an out of sorts Dimitri van den Bergh easing past the Belgian in a 6-1 win with 55% on the doubles and a high checkout of 150.
The only leg won by Van den Bergh was the first as he sealed a hold of throw but from there, Clemens broke at 2-1 and 4-1 before holding with the aforementioned 150 checkout.
It was missed darts that saw him seal it as Van den Bergh missed 12 darts in all including a handful in the final leg which saw 'The German Giant' over the line.
While Cullen saw off Ritchie Edhouse in a 6-4 win sealing it with five 180's to see himself over the line. He will again face Damon Heta tomorrow.
It was a display which saw a 92 average as well as the scoring power with both locked in at 33.3% on the doubles. He survived a late onslaught in doing so with Edhouse coming back from 4-2 down but in the end 'The Rockstar' survived.
