Rob Cross and
Callan Rydz are first through to the Quarter-Finals of the
Players Championship Finals after winning through to begin Saturday evening's session.
Cross was on Main Stage taking on Martin Schindler and eventually got over the line in a display that was clinical at times from 'Voltage' who claimed a 10-6 win.
From 2-0 down, he reeled off three consecutive legs pouncing on every miss from Schindler to hold the advantage going into the break. From there, he held the advantage sealing a sixth consecutive leg for a 6-2 lead.
He finally lost a leg at 6-2 up but headed into the next break with a 7-3 lead heading easily towards the Quarter-Finals.
Schindler made it 7-4 and broke at 8-6 as he looked for a way back into the tie but Cross went one away and sealed the deal finally on double one.
While over on Stage Two, it was comeback Callan as Rydz produced an epic comeback to see off Keane Barry and reach his third major Quarter-Final. He sealed a 10-8 win in the end in a quick fire clash.
He came from 8-6 down and reeled off four successive legs to claim it pinning it on double four with Barry sat waiting to force a decider.
