Luke Humphries sealed his progression through to the Quarter-Finals of the
Players Championship Finals after a superb display to defeat Krzysztof Ratajski in a closely fought battle for most of the tie.
Humphries averaged almost 105 in a 10-7 win as he continues to hunt down his maiden major as one of the favourites left in the draw and he showed why.
To start the tie, it was a commanding 4-1 lead for Humphries with Ratajski only getting his foothold in the tie through a 113 checkout at the break.
He followed on return with an 84 checkout on the bull for 4-2 and kept it close from there with Humphries hitting a 92 checkout for 5-2 but Ratajski then broke for 5-4 with a 129 checkout for a 12-darter.
He consolidated only for Humphires to hold next time around with a blockbuster 143 checkout for 6-5 up. They drew level and continued to exchange legs. But in the latter half of the tie produced 12-darter a 103 checkout to break and go one away at 9-7 sealing the deal on double 10.

Sealing the deal with a 110 checkout, it was a true exhibition of combination finishing from Clayton producing an 84, 96 and 122 checkout in a row to go 6-1 up before a superb 90 checkout on the bull for an 8-2 lead concluding from there with that 110.
