Clinical Cullen eases past O'Connor to seal third career European Tour title at Hungarian Darts Trophy

Joe Cullen has a fourth PDC title of the season to go alongside Masters glory and two ProTour wins with a third career European Tour title heading the way of 'The Rockstar' in the form of the Hungarian Darts Trophy from Budapest.

Cullen adds to European Darts Matchplay and International Darts Open glory but it is a first since 2020 as he eased past William O'Connor in an 8-2 rout.

Cullen was in cruise control early on doubling his lead with a 100 checkout on two double 20’s and his average went up to 101 with a 71 checkout to go 3-0. O’Connor’s misery went from bad to worse as Cullen converted double 10 to make it 5-0 as he looked to surge towards the finishing.

After finally getting off the mark, O’Connor hit a 124 checkout to go 5-2 down with a break throwing to go only two behind.

Cullen missed 89 on the bull to break straight back and go two away but two visits went begging for O’Connor and ‘The Rockstar’ extinguished the fightback with a break back to make it 6-2.

A 96 checkout saw Cullen go one away at 7-2. O’Connor missed 78 to keep himself in it but Cullen missed three match darts only to return with The Magpie unable to keep the match going.
