The field of participants for the 2023 World Grand Prix has been announced. From Oct. 2 to 8, 32 players will compete in the unique tournament in Leicester, which also requires players to start legs with a double.
Defending champion Michael van Gerwen is of course in attendance, as are fellow Dutchmen, Dirk van Duijvenbode, Danny Noppert and Raymond van Barneveld. For "Barney," it will be his first appearance at the World Grand Prix since 2018.
The top eight players in the world rankings have seeded status in the draw, which will be conducted on Monday, Sept. 25. Besides Van Gerwen, the seeded players include Michael Smith, Peter Wright, Gerwyn Price, Nathan Aspinall, Luke Humphries, Jonny Clayton and Rob Cross. They cannot meet in the first round.
