Connor Scutt has set up an intriguing second round tie with Gerwyn Price at the World Darts Championship, comprehensively defeating Krzysztof Kcuik 3-0.
Although Kcuik started off hot, firing in a maximum with his first visit, Scutt was the one that took control of the match early doors. Racing through the first set, the Englishman was looking composed as he took a 1-0 lead, including a brilliant 138 checkout.
Kcuik offered more resistance in set 2 as he began to settle. Firing in a ton-plus checkout of his own with a 121, the Pole put some pressure on Scutt. Again though, Scutt found the answers. With his average over 95, he took set 2 in a deciding leg to move within one of the match.
Opening up the third set, Scutt secured a 14-dart hold of throw on double 16 to edge closer to the next round. After Kcuik then missed a couple to level the set, Scutt was on hand to punish his opponent again. Kcuik would pull one leg back but that proved nothing more than a consolation as Scutt picked off 65 in three darts, setting up a second round tie with Gerwyn Price.
