Cross defies doubling drama to deny Sedlacek, Brown surges past Rydz

The German Darts Grand Prix has seen the seeded players come into the foray with mixed success so far.

Rob Cross, the current European Champion and a finalist last time out on the European Tour began his weekend against Karel Sedlacek who received a bye.

This was due to Krzysztof Ratajski withdrawing but after a good run to the Quarter-Finals last time out, Sedlacek couldn't repeat the feat against the player he fell to in Hildesheim.

The tenth seed surged through 6-3 coming from 2-0 down to do so, all while missing 20 darts at doubles throughout the tie.

He is joined by Keegan Brown in the Last 16 with 'The Needle' who is an ever present in this tournament continuing to show the glimmers of form he has shown as of late.

He averaged 86, hitting two 180's in the process in seeing off Callan Rydz 6-3 who is the first seed to fall this afternoon.
