Cross ends superb run of Sedlacek, set to face Gurney in semi-finals

Rob Cross will face Daryl Gurney in the second semi-final alongside Michael van Gerwen v Dimitri van den Bergh at the 2022 German Darts Championship with the winners facing each other shortly.

Gurney was first to come through out of this section and did so in style against Jonny Clayton.

It was an absolute thriller between the pair but when it mattered most 'Superchin' pulled out a 124 checkout on the bull in the decider to claim his spot in the semi-finals. He has been threatening a run for a while, could it be this weekend?

He will have to get past Cross though who was superb in dumping out Karel Sedlacek who has been one of the leading stories from the weekend.

Averaging 101, he came from 4-2 down to win 6-4 with three ton plus checkouts en route against the impressive Czech ace.

Both held to begin the tie with Sedlacek holding his throw last dart in hand at double five to make it 1-1. He missed 99 on double 20 for a break and Cross returned but chased round the board allowing Sedlacek to again hit double five to break and make it 2-1.

But Cross hit back with a 104 checkout to make it 2-2. In missing the chance to consolidate, Sedlacek hit 102 to hit back to break and make it 3-2.

He missed the bull for a 164 but returned for 44 to make it 4-2. A 52 checkout on double 16 saw Cross hold throw.

Sedlacek missed 72 on double 16 to hold and Cross returned for 117 on double 20 to break and make it 4-4. He followed that up with 129 on the bull to go one away. A 180 and double eight saw Cross move through from there.
