Cross staves off Van Duijvenbode fightback, Superb Sedlacek continues run with De Sousa win

The last Quarter-Final at the 2022 German Darts Championship has been confirmed with Rob Cross set to face off against Karel Sedlacek on Sunday evening.

Cross breezed into a 4-1 lead against Dirk van Duijvenbode and looked to be heading towards the Quarter-Finals with ease but had to stave off a late fightback with ‘The Titan’ making it 4-3 with a break only not to win another leg as Cross broke back and sealed the deal with a 52 checkout.

This completed what was a clinical display from ‘Voltage’ who averaged 99.3, hit four 180’s and 55% on the doubles in the end.

But next up will be Karel Sedlacek who just keeps winning and keeps playing superbly seeing off Jose de Sousa in a 6-4 victory and ‘Evil Charlie’ will be in the line-up for tonight’s session.

To begin the tie, Sedlacek had the chance to go 3-2 up after battling back from 2-0 down but despite hitting a 180, he didn’t get a shot at 100 with De Sousa hitting 124 on the bull to take the lead.

Sedlacek held though to make it 3-3 and De Sousa hit 110 to continue that trend as he went 4-3 up. Sedlacek missed the bull for a 161 but came back for double eight at 4-4.

But he took a break from there to go 5-4 up with a 68 checkout on double 16. With De Sousa looking to pounce and break and take it to a decider, Sedlacek produced a 127 checkout on double 16 to move through.
