Joe Cullen and Dave Chisnall are the first players through to the second round at the European Championship after victories over Mervyn King and Dimitri van den Bergh respectively.
Cullen was the first player through with a 6-2 win over King where he hit 60 percent on the doubles in an impressive display. This comes after a good season for 'The Rockstar' on the European Tour.

Cullen continued his fine finishing as he took out 80 to create further daylight at 3-1 up. King claimed a leg back as he went 4-2 adrift.
King though couldn't produce further legs back and Cullen claimed the victory from there to move through.
Chisnall continued his superb run of form with victory over Dimitri van den Bergh 6-3 with a 98 average and six 180's.
The St Helens ace went 2-1 up in a even first few legs smashing in a 110 checkout but at the interval he was 3-2 up with a 94 average.
Van den Bergh claimed a reprieve after seven missed darts at doubles from Chisnall, he hit double four to make it 3-3. Chisnall though hit a 14 darter to lead 4-3 and gained a crucial break of throw to make it 5-3.
