Joe Cullen is a major winner in the PDC after sealing his first TV title at the 2022
Masters with victory over Dave Chisnall 11-9 in the final.
It is heartbreak again for Chisnall who watched as he lost out in his sixth major final, while for Cullen, he has achieved darting destiny and fulfilled his promise he has shown for a long time in Milton Keynes.
A Premier League spot potentially now beckons for 'The Rockstar' who will now look to take his game to new heights.
First blood went to Cullen in the final who hit double 16 to hold. Chisnall began his throw with a 180 and eased to a hold himself to make it 1-1.
Cullen set up 32 from 141 with Chisnall well back and ‘The Rockstar’ went 2-1 up. Cullen hit a 180 but Chisnall pinned double eight to make it 2-2.
At the first interval though, Cullen led with a 117 checkout to go 3-2 up. He broke on return on double 12 to go two clear at 4-2 and consolidated from there with an 87 checkout to go 5-2 up.
Chisnall got back on track trailing 5-3 and took three legs on the spin at 5-5 with an 82 checkout as he made it parity.
But it was Cullen’s turn to go three on the spin as he produced an 84 checkout on the bull en route to a 7-5 advantage. This was extended as he was sat at 9-6 up at the interval.
On return, Chisnall continued to have no answer and Cullen produced a stellar 126 checkout to go one away from the title.
Chisnall was first to a finish on his throw but Cullen hit a 134 to leave 82 for the match. Chisnall missed a 132 for a hold but Cullen missed three match darts and Chisnall returned to prolong the tie.
‘The Rockstar’ made it ten missed match darts as Chisnall broke to make it 10-9 and he was throwing for the decider. But first time, Cullen hit double 18 after missing so many match darts.
