Joe Cullen is into his maiden major final and will face Dave Chisnall shortly at the 2022
Masters in Milton Keynes with a new major champion set to be crowned.
This after claiming an 11-8 win over Jose de Sousa which saw 'The Rockstar' who has been quality all weekend average 101 and hit seven 180's along the way.
Both players struggled with the weight of the occasion early on but it was Cullen who opened up a 3-2 lead on De Sousa.
From there, Cullen took out 84 for a 12 darter as he led 6-4 and he looked to streak away from De Sousa and he produced another break to make it 7-5 defying a sixth 180 from 'The Special One'.
He continued to stretch his lead and was sat at the break 9-6 up but this is when the finishing line was in sight.
He went to within one but missed one match dart and De Sousa hit double 16 to break and save himself. He did so again with four missed match darts coming and going for Cullen and De Sousa closed the gap to 10-8.
But this drama didn't last long as Cullen set up 32 from 129 with De Sousa way back and he was set to have yet more darts at a double for the match. But he finally got over the line to the delight of the Bradford ace.
