Before the World Matchplay began, title sponsors Betfred made a 180 charity pledge that they would donate £50 to The Stroke Association for every 180 scored during the tournament.

With the tournament going into the semi-final stage after tonight; £12,800 has been raised for the Stroke Association with 256 180's being hit so far.

Should last year’s total of 330 180’s be matched or beaten; an additional £10,000 will be given; with a nine-dart charity challenge also taking place this week with all the players involved.

They will donate £1 per point for a players’ total across nine darts with the charity in question chosen after Rod Studd, Sky Sports commentator suffered a stroke recently and a lot of money has been raised so far for a good cause.
