Danny Noppert is realistic: "Bad group stage, but won three times"

Danny Noppert completed his group stage at the Grand Slam of Darts on Tuesday night, finishing with three wins from three.
Noppert, who'd already defeated Haruki Muramatsu and Andrew Gilding in his opening two matches, defeated Brendan Dolan 5-4 in his final group match. "I am satisfied with the win, but definitely not with the level I reached tonight. You also noticed that Brendan was under pressure, that didn't help the level either," Noppert told Viaplay.

"Actually, I played very poorly throughout the group stage, but I did win all my matches. That's all that matters for now, but this did feel like a bad showing for myself."
Noppert, who advances to the last 16 as group winner, will take on Stephen Bunting on Thursday night.

- I've always thought the top 24 should be made up of major winners and runners up then Euro tour followed by PC tour winners - if you don't have 24 after that then have some qualifiers.Thomas Moffatt03-11-2024
