The cash register is already ringing strong for Prostate Cancer UK during the World Darts Championship. Tournament sponsor Paddy Power has launched a number of initiatives to raise money for the charity.

The goal is to turn over one million pounds during the tournament at Alexandra Palace. For now, they are well on their way, having raised over half that amount before Christmas.

For every 180 score, the betting agency transfers a sum of 1,000 pounds to the charity. The counter currently stands at 462 maximum scores, which means £462,000 has already been raked in for Prostate Cancer UK through this route.

In addition, £60,000 will also be transferred for each nine-darter. Christian Kist managed to throw a perfect leg at the World Darts Championship, bringing the total proceeds for the Christmas break to £522,000.

During the pre-Christmas period, Scott Williams threw the most 180 scores. The Englishman threw a total of thirteen maximum scores in his two matches. Behind Williams, Kevin Doets, Florian Hempel, Wessel Nijman and Rhys Griffin are on twelve 180s. Of all the players who entered from the second round, Luke Littler has thrown the most 180 scores. In his match against Ryan Meikle, 'The Nuke' reached no less than 10 maximum scores.
