The Prostate Cancer UK can look forward to a hefty donation in early January. Prior to the PDC
World Darts Championship, Paddy Power promised to transfer £1,000 to the charity for every 180 score thrown.
Halfway through the World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace, 443 maximum scores have already been thrown. That means a whopping £443,000 has already been raised anyway, and the tally will rise even further after Christmas.
Last year, a record number of 180s were thrown during the World Darts Championship with a total number of 901. According to the PDC, the current number of 443 is ahead of last year's schedule, so the total donation appears to be heading toward the one million pound mark.
The player with the most 180 scores during the World Darts Championship will also be awarded a Ballon d'Art trophy. Man Lok Leung is currently the leader with fifteen 180 scores, but the Hong Kong dart player has already been eliminated. Of the still active players, Luke Littler has the highest number with twelve 180s.
