De Decker claims commanding victory over Ashton, Waites sees off Heta in high quality clash

The first round action has began on the main stage at the UK Open with Mike de Decker and Scott Waites moving through to the second round.
De Decker defeated Lisa Ashton in a commanding 6-2 victory as ‘The Lancashire Rose’ couldn’t make a winning debut in the UK Open on the Main Stage.
Waites is another new Tour Card holder who is through at Minehead after coming through a high quality tie with Damon Heta in a 6-4 win with a 100 average.
Other players through include Karel Sedlacek who eased past Adam Hunt in a 6-0 win, Alan Tabern who saw off Irish sensation Keane Barry.
As well as Steve ‘Bomber’ Brown who missed double 12 for a nine-darter during victory over Michael Barnard.
Cody Harris is not through in the first second round game against Jason Lowe losing out in a 6-1 defeat.
