Jose de Sousa and Michael Smith are successfully through to the knockout stage after the opening two matches on a pivotal night of final group matches at the Grand Slam of Darts.
De Sousa hit six 180's en route to a 5-1 victory over Lisa Ashton which put 'The Special One' in pole position. He produced a commanding start to the tie streaking ahead into 3-1 up, Ashton was slow out of the blocks but started to find her flow with a 64 checkout for a 15-darter.
But De Sousa hit another 180 and a 13-darter to go one away before he finalised the victory and this handed it onto Smith and Ratajski.
Ratajski had to go +3 or more to qualify but Smith took out 71 to go 3-2 up with a 102 average and knowing he was through, he claimed the win 5-2 with a 107 average to top Group C and send De Sousa through as second.
