The first round is complete at the Austrian Darts Open with the partisan crowd silenced in Graz with Mensur Suljovic heading out early to a resurgent Jeffrey de Zwaan.
De Zwaan has shown glimmers of class as of late but put it into action seeing off Suljovic and he survived two missed match darts as a result.
While similarly for Stephen Bunting, he survived a scare from Karel Sedlacek in the process of moving through. The Czech ace missed four match darts as he eventually fell over the line 6-5.
It was another deciding leg but this time for a European Tour debutant as Brett Claydon saw off Rainer Sturm.
While the crowd had some cause for celebration as Rowby-John Rodriguez ended the night by seeing off Darius Labanauskas 6-3.
