Jeffrey de Zwaan has been attempting a career resurgence for some time after falling off the PDC Tour and having to go to Q-School this past January but he is now into the sixth round of the UK Open after dumping out 'The Iceman' Gerwyn Price.
De Zwaan came from 4-0 down to prevail 10-8 with a 105 average and some superb scoring power including 10 180's but also 52.6% on the doubles and he will be in the draw later on.
After being down early on, he kickstarted his revival with a 110 checkout for 4-2 down before sealing parity with a 48 checkout for an 11-darter. Taking the lead from there, he went 6-4 up and his run of legs continued turning the tables completely with a 61 checkout for a 7-4 lead.
Price though stopped the rot and sealed parity at 7-7 as the match took another turn but it went back the way of De Zwaan who sealed back-to-back legs including an 11-darter to win it.
He is joined in that draw later on by William O'Connor who dumped out the defending champion Danny Noppert. It was a superb final leg from 'The Magpie' who led throughout and has a love affair with this tournament reaching the latter stages last year and will be dreaming of another run this time around. He prevailed 10-9.
