Dirk destroys Daryl as Van Duijvenbode eases past Gurney, Van den Bergh survives Edhouse scare

The second round has began at the Players Championship Finals with Dirk van Duijvenbode, Dimitri van den Bergh, Callan Rydz and Keane Barry all finding their way into this evening's action.

Rydz and Barry will face each other after finding their way through from Stage Two. The former saw off Ricardo Pietreczko in a 6-3 win with the German unable to follow up defeating top seed Damon Heta yesterday. While Barry's love affair with Minehead continues with 'Dynamite' producing a 100 average and four 180's en route to a 6-5 win.

Gilding broke with a 120 checkout to go one away but Barry turned it around and heads into the latter stages tonight.

While on the Main Stage, it was a Dutch Destruction job from Dirk van Duijvenbode with 'The Titan' producing a sensational display to ease past Daryl Gurney 6-1.

Thanks to three 14-darters and a 12-darter, Van Duijvenbode quickly gained a 5-0 lead. Gurney then got on the scoreboard with a 64 check-out, before 'Aubergenius' sealed it with an 80 checkout.

While Van den Bergh survived a scare against Ritchie Edhouse moving through 6-5 and will face either Cameron Menzies or Michael van Gerwen later.

He had to produce a comeback to see off Edhouse sealing it in a dramatic deciding leg.
