The fifth round action has begun at the 2020 UK Open with some real darting drama already taking place throughout Butlins in Minehead.
Chris Dobey though had no drama in making it through to the Last 16 draw which will take place later defeating Simon Whitlock to continue his
UK Open brilliance in a 10-5 victory on the Main Stage.
While it wasn't as classy as yesterday, it didn't have to be and he averaged 98.5 with 47 percent on his doubles and two 180's.
Whitlock was more fluid on his scoring hitting five 180's but could only hit 35 percent of his doubles which was the difference.
Speaking of doubles, an astonishing game took place on the outer boards as Daryl Gurney took on William O'Connor.
The latter survived a comeback yesterday against Dave Chisnall and went through it again as Gurney battled back from 7-1 down surviving three match darts in the process to defeat O'Connor in the deciding leg which saw 'Superchin' drop to his knees after a marathon comeback of epic proportions.
'The Magpie' may have survived it yesterday but not this time around as he heads out of the tournament to the Premier League star.
In the multi-board room, there was also victories for Jonny Clayton and Jamie Hughes. The former was clinical in seeing off Joe Cullen in a 10-4 win with a 101.6 average.
While for Hughes he safely advanced seeing off Martin Atkins in a 10-7 win as 'Yozza' starts to motor through in Minehead.
