The fifth round action continues at the 2020 UK Open and one player in particular is very lucky to be in the Last 16 draw in Michael van Gerwen.

Van Gerwen survived a massive upset against Jason Lowe claiming a 10-9 victory against the Cradley Heath ace. Unknown to many before this tournament, the latter is seen as a massive danger due to his no nonsense style of darts which saw him come from behind to defeat Adrian Lewis in particular yesterday.
He had a mountain to climb against 'Mighty Mike' going 5-0 down in the early going but always had the belief claiming five consecutive legs as MVG started to falter and it was soon 7-6 to Lowe who went in front for the first time.
From there the duo kept holding but Lowe went one away from the upset always keeping that advantage. He went into the decider on throw but missed the big number when going for an 86 sliding into the four allowing Van Gerwen three clear shots at double 10 and of course he took them to deny him. Could Lowe be the only player who pushes Van Gerwen this weekend?
The likes of Gerwyn Price and James Wade who are both through will have something to say about that. 'The Iceman' faced off against 'Rapid' Ricky Evans in a game which as expected was done within a blink of an eye. He averaged 98 hitting four 180's and edging the doubles with 10/25 compared to only 3/8 from his opponent.
Wade was in a similarly emphatic mood and smashed Kim Huybrechts 10-1 with a standard Machine 95 average with five 180's and 50 percent on the doubles.
Huybrechts didn't get many opportunities at doubles but spurned 5/6 of them which proved to be costly as the Aldershot ace who has had an indifferent start to 2020 moves through.

Multi-board update - Magic Mensur ends run of Van Duijvenbode, McKinstry continues brilliance

Mensur Suljovic has ended the run of Dirk van Duijvenbode with not even a power outage in the multi board room stopping 'The Gentle', this means we will not get 'The Titan's excellent walk on gracing the Minehead stage.
Kyle McKinstry is a player who has graced the main stage and his brilliant run continues. He has ended the hopes of Martin Schindler who showed himself to be back on form yesterday and he will be very much a dark horse going into tonight's proceedings.
