The second semi-final is set and it is a repeat of week one's final in
Premier League Darts as
Chris Dobey will face
Michael van Gerwen - who is aiming for four night wins in a row later this evening in Nottingham.
Dobey hasn't won since he sealed the Night One title against Van Gerwen despite having the second best average in the tournament but survived a comeback from Michael Smith with 'Hollywood' surging into a 5-0 lead before holding his nerve for a 6-4 win.
It was a superb start for Dobey who broke at 4-0 with a first 180 and 92 checkout before going one away on double four but match darts came and went after Smith spared his blushes to avert the whitewash.
But 'Bully Boy' found his way back into the match. But an 84 checkout on the bull saw Dobey silence the crowd who seemingly wanted Smith to send it all the way.
Next he will aim to topple the league leader Van Gerwen who eased past Peter Wright in a 6-1 win with 'Snakebite' who has been open about not being happy with his setup and his tinkering has seemingly finally got to him.
He extends his unbeaten run to 10 matches with another tie between them set likely next week as the league leader faces the bottom placed player. While for Wright, it is back to the drawing board.
