Doets on potential walk-on song: "Even though I am now half Swede, it will certainly not be an ABBA song"

Kevin Doets is working his way up. The 23-year-old Dutchman who currently lives in Sweden has already won a tournament on both the Development Tour and the Challenge Tour this year.

Doets currently does not have a Tour Card, so he usually has to make do with smaller tournaments on the Development and Challenge Tour.

“Financially it's not a problem for me. My management (The Sportsman Management Company) pays for the flights, hotels and everything. That is common in darts. The player contributes a certain percentage of his prize money. James Wade and Dimitri Van den Bergh, among others, are also part of the same management. However, it is difficult to travel to England. Because of corona, there are no direct flights from Stockholm to England," says Doets to Sportnieuws.nl.

Walk on song

Only once in his career did Doets have to choose a walk-on song, which then became 'Ridin' by Chamillionaire. “I have no idea what I'm going to choose later. I don't listen to music much. And even though I am now half Swede, it will certainly not be an ABBA song," laughs Doets.
