Kevin Doets has been a stand out on all three tours (ProTour, Development and Challenge Tour) and is one of a number of rising Dutch talents.

The 23-year-old has his own interesting story which he told when he signed for Target Darts living in Sweden after meeting a girl but also battling dartitis growing up and revealing how he corrected it.

"I started playing darts because of my parents. They played in the local pub with their friends, not really high level but just for fun and I started playing when I was five years old on a beer crate and I built myself up a bit. Got myself into the national youth team became European champions. I've had a rough time as well not winning anything for a couple of years and coming back stronger," said Doets to Dan Dawson for Target Darts.

"I got dartitis I guess when I was 17. I got it in the summer and I had it for one and a half years but I got rid of it."

"The biggest part was removing all the pressure on myself and actually don't care anymore about losing but you want to win."

Working as a delivery driver in Sweden, he said that those involved are darts players themselves so help him when it comes to time off.

"My two bosses heard about me and that I had a girlfriend in Sweden and offered me a job really quickly and I got to know them, they are darts players as well, they're really easy about me leaving to England because they know my situation. Whenever I have to do that, I just have to give them short notice and I can leave whenever I want."

Joining Barney team and Tour Card ambitions

Doets also discussed being on the same team as the players he grew up watching in Raymond van Barneveld and Phil Taylor.

"It feels kind of normal, it feels like I fit in. It feels like I'm meant to be here. The goal of course is to qualify for the majors but the ultimate goal is being a top player in the world. I know I have the game."

As well as cementing Q-School as his obvious goal for the coming months if he can't achieve his goals through the secondary tours.

"Obviously Q-School is going to be in the next six months. I want to get my Tour Card over there or if I don't get my Tour Card through the Challenge/Development Tour."
