Dramatic decider for Dirk as Van Duijvenbode seals hard-fought win over Ross Smith, set to face Rock in Quarter-Finals

The last Quarter-Final has been confirmed at the 2023 European Darts Open with Dirk van Duijvenbode set to face Josh Rock this evening in Leverkusen.

As ever with Van Duijvenbode, it was a thrilling clash with Ross Smith that saw him move through as he produced a 11-darter in the decider to claim the win to move through. Producing a 97 average and four 180's, 'The Titan' continues his superb form.

Initially going 5-3 up with an 11-darter, a missed match darts allowed Smith a route back in with a 15-dart 64 checkout and more match darts allowed Smith to send it all the way only for his comeback to be cut short by the Dutchman.

In the last eight, a showdown with Northern Irish super-talent Josh Rock awaits. 'Rocky' quickly grabbed a 4-0 lead against compatriot Brendan Dolan, but still pulled off a difficult 6-5 win in the end averting a late comeback.
