Draw and schedule confirmed for 2023 European Darts Open with Van Gerwen set for potential Van Barneveld clash

The draw and schedule has been confirmed for 2023 European Darts Open which will take place between March 24-26 with 48 players battling out for the £30,000 on offer.

Michael van Gerwen has won the last three but could face another iteration of Dutch Darts answer to El Clasico when he faces Raymond van Barneveld if the five-time World Champion can get past Filip Sebesta.

Friday's opening sessions features Gabriel Clemens - Ian White, Florian Hempel - James Wade as well as Pascal Ruprrecht facing Ross SMith. Chris Dobey heads straight from the Premier League homecoming to face Maik Kuivenhoven too.

Luke Humphries as top seed faces either Brendan Dolan or Steve Lennon. Dave Chisnall could seal a third European Tour title in the last four tournaments, he faces Jim Williams or John Henderson.

Michael Smith will face either Rene Eidams or Jurjen van der Velde, with Van den Bergh drawn against Wade or Hempel. Peter Wright could meet recent ProTour semi-finalist Ricardo Pietreczko or Geert Nentjes.

Following Saturday’s second round, the last 16 will take place on Sunday afternoon, before the tournament concludes with the quarter-finals, semi-finals and final.
