Draw and Schedule for 2020 International Darts Open confirmed

The draw for the 2020 International Darts Open has been made on Thursday. The event will kick off on Friday afternoon in Riesa, marking the fourth and last event of the PDC European Tour in 2020.

Gerwyn Price is the defending champion at the International Darts Open. The Welshman claimed the title last year after defeating Rob Cross 8-6 in the final. Both players have entered this event, with also the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Nathan Aspinall, Michael Smith and Adrian Lewis.

However, that does not apply to Glen Durrant. The Premier League champion has tested positive for the Coronavirus and had to withdraw. Dirk van Duijvenbode, Peter Wright, Kyle Anderson, Niels Zonneveld and Ryan Murray also do not participate in Riesa. Their places are taken by additional qualifying spots through the qualifying tournament for German players.

Defending champion Price takes on Mario Vandenbogaerde or Ross Smith in the second round, as The Iceman has a bye for the opening round. Number one seed Michael van Gerwen meets the winner of the tie between Madars Razma and Kai Fan Leung.

Germany's number one Max Hopp will play against Jelle Klaasen in the stand-out match of the first round. The likes of Andy Hamilton, Benito van de Pas, Brendan Dolan, Steve West and Danny Noppert will also enter the stage on Friday.
