The PDC has announced the draw and playing schedule for the
New South Wales Darts Masters. The World Series tournament in the Australian city of Wollongong will take place August 11 and 12.
In the draw, the eight PDC stars were paired with one of the eight players playing on behalf of the continent of Oceania. Out of these,
Simon Whitlock was the biggest name. He was paired with
Nathan Aspinall, who just last week made it to the final match in New Zealand.
Danny Noppert has to look after the Dutch honour in Australia in the absence of Michael van Gerwen. Noppert takes on Brenton Lloyd in the first round of the New South Wales Darts Masters.
Dimitri van den Bergh plays his first match against Dave Marland.
Rob Cross, winner of the New Zealand Darts Masters last weekend, starts his tournament against John Hurring.
Peter Wright will meet Darren Penhall, an Englishman who also has an Australian passport since this year and has had a PDC Tour Card in the past.
An Australian duel also was drawn between
Damon Heta and Joe Comito. World champion
Michael Smith faces Mal Cuming, while
Gerwyn Price faces Harley Kemp.
The first round of the New South Wales Darts Masters will take place on Friday, August 11. On Saturday, the quarterfinals, semifinals and final will be consecutive.
