The busy darts calendar is throwing a spanner in the works for Raymond van Barneveld and his future wife Julia Evans.
Indeed, Van Barneveld announced last year that he would marry his English fiancée on Sept. 18, 2023. For the 56-year-old Dutchman, it will be his second marriage.
Sept. 18, however, is the day after the World Series of Darts Finals in Amsterdam. Since 'Barney' is currently in 12th place in the rankings for that tournament, there is a good chance he will have to perform there. Therefore, he has now scheduled his wedding a day later.
Van den Bergh
By the way, Van Barneveld is not the first darter to have to postpone his wedding because of the busy calendar. Earlier this also happened to Dimitri Van den Bergh, who normally was supposed to get married this month. However, because he has been invited to the World Series tournaments in New Zealand and Australia, he has postponed his wedding until the middle of next year.
