Draw confirmed for 2019 European Championship: Defending champion Wade to face Clayton

After the conclusion of the Gibraltar Darts Trophy, the draw for the European Championship which takes place at the end of next month in Gottingen has been confirmed.

Defending champion James Wade will kick off his title defence against Jonny Clayton in a tough test to begin proceedings.

Michael van Gerwen is number one seed and will take on Ross Smith with the first and last player qualified facing off. There is also a battle of former European Champions as Simon Whitlock takes on Adrian Lewis.

Practice partners Ian White and Michael Smith will also face off again - White claimed victory in their most recent meeting, can 'Bully Boy' get the bragging rights back?

Krzysztof Ratajski, the latest new winner on the European Tour at the Gibraltar Darts Trophy will take on Chris Dobey. Ted Evetts is among the debutants and he will take on Gerwyn Price.

Glen Durrant and Keegan Brown will also make their debut in the event facing Ricky Evans and Stephen Bunting respectively.
